We deserve better.
"My background isn't political. It's practical."
Ohio's future should belong to the people, not just the powerful.
Whittney Wood grew up in the same struggles as her neighbors. Now she's running for Ohio House District 73 to make sure someone at the Statehouse actually represents them.
About Whittney
I used to think I was the problem. I was 35, working as hard as I could, and still couldn't keep up. But when I looked around, I saw it wasn't just me. It's all of us.
We do everything right. We show up. We work. And we still can't pay the bills. That's not our fault. That's a government that stopped working for us.
I won't blame my neighbor. I won't be ashamed of struggling. And I won't pretend this is just how life is supposed to be.
This isn't living. It's barely surviving. And the people who benefit from keeping us this way are counting on us to stay quiet.
I won't.
Send me to the Statehouse for everyone who has ever counted change at the gas pump, skipped a meal, or stayed up at night wondering why doing everything right still wasn't enough. I'll be grateful when we take back our government and make it work for the people it was always supposed to serve.
Every dollar goes straight to yard signs, mailers, and getting out the vote. No corporate PACs. No Super PACs. Just neighbors helping a neighbor make real change this November.

Every kid deserves a good school. I'll fully fund public schools, pay teachers what they're worth, and give students real job training, not just a diploma.
Tap to see GOP position ›Republicans gutted Ohio's fair school funding formula and sent the money to private school vouchers instead.
Tap to go back ‹Ohio's budget could cut Medicaid and leave thousands without coverage. Fairfield County needs more mental health and addiction services. I'll fight to protect both.
Tap to see GOP position ›Republicans passed a budget that lets Ohio cut Medicaid and reversed health coverage for young children.
Tap to go back ‹Ohioans work hard but can't pay rent. I'll push for better job training in trades and healthcare, and make sure wages keep up with the cost of living.
Tap to see GOP position ›Republicans keep blocking minimum wage increases while giving tax cuts to corporations and the wealthy.
Tap to go back ‹Our officers deserve proper pay, training, and equipment. High turnover and low staffing hurt everyone. I support fully funding law enforcement, providing real mental health resources for officers, and ensuring due process protections are upheld. I also believe investing in addiction treatment and mental health services reduces crime before it starts, making our officers' jobs safer too.
Tap to see GOP position ›Republicans cut harm reduction funding from $500K to $315K and limited mental health services in rural counties.
Tap to go back ‹Family farms are disappearing. I'll protect them from corporate buyouts, defend our water quality, and make sure rural areas get their fair share of state funding.
Tap to see GOP position ›Republicans have loosened rules on corporate farming while bills to protect family farms sit ignored in committee.
Tap to go back ‹I won't take corporate PAC or Super PAC money. I believe in open budgets, strong ethics rules, and a government that works for people, not for whoever donated the most.
Tap to see GOP position ›Ohio Republicans have taken millions from corporations and PACs, and drawn some of the most gerrymandered maps in the country.

With ranked choice voting, you can pick your real first choice without throwing your vote away. It gives voters more power and politicians less.
Tap to see GOP position ›Ohio Republicans oppose ranked choice voting. Critics say it's because it threatens the two-party grip on power.
Tap to go back ‹Big tech companies are moving to Ohio and using huge amounts of our electricity and water. I want rules to protect our grid and rivers before it's too late.
Tap to see GOP position ›Republicans fast-tracked data center permits with little oversight on energy or water use, putting profits over communities.
Tap to go back ‹New rules on hemp drinks and edibles were written to help the alcohol industry crush competition. That's not fair. I'd push back against that.
Tap to see GOP position ›Republicans passed THC regulations that critics say were written by the alcohol lobby to eliminate hemp business competition.
Tap to go back ‹This law limits what teachers can discuss in class. I believe teachers should be trusted to do their jobs. Students deserve honest, open education.
Tap to see GOP position ›Republicans supported HB 326, which restricts classroom topics and limits what educators can teach.
Tap to go back ‹Fairfield County property taxes are above the state average and go up every 3 years. I support freezing taxes while you have a mortgage and making reassessments less frequent.
Tap to see GOP position ›Republicans claimed their budget brought 'historic property tax relief', while cutting school funding, Medicaid, and housing programs at the same time.
Tap to go back ‹I would have voted NO. Ohio taxpayers shouldn't pay $600 million to build a stadium for a billionaire's NFL team. That money belongs in our schools.
Tap to see GOP position ›Republicans voted yes, handing $600 million in bonds to the Haslam family to build a domed Browns stadium in Brook Park.
Tap to go back ‹Ohio's fair school funding law was built by experts from both parties. Republicans threw it out to send more money to private schools. I'd work to bring it back.
Tap to see GOP position ›Republicans dismantled the bipartisan school funding formula that was legally required by the Ohio Constitution.
Tap to go back ‹This law gives politicians control over our public universities. I believe in academic freedom. Colleges should be run by educators, not politicians.
Tap to see GOP position ›Republicans passed SB 1, expanding political control over universities and restricting DEI programs on campus.
Tap to go back ‹Wall Street is buying up Ohio homes and raising rents. I support more affordable housing and closing loopholes that let big investors take over our neighborhoods.
Tap to see GOP position ›Republicans have blocked bills that would limit corporate landlords from bulk-buying single-family homes across Ohio.
Tap to go back ‹Ohio's public workers are losing bargaining rights one bill at a time. The state budget removed the right to negotiate remote work. SB 1 banned faculty strikes. Workers deserve a voice at the table. I'll fight to protect and restore collective bargaining rights for Ohio's 400,000 public employees.
Tap to see GOP position ›Republicans passed HB 96 stripping state workers of the right to bargain over remote work. They passed SB 1 banning faculty strikes. There are currently 5 active bills in the Ohio Statehouse that would further restrict public workers' ability to collectively bargain.
